LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP:  Business started up on Tuesday last 
week, with price ranges a little more manageable than they 
have been last several weeks. Northern dressed deals ranged 
from $152 to $160, mostly $155 to $157. The Southern live 
price range was $93 to $98, mostly $94 to $95. According to 
Thursday's Mandatory summary reports the weekly accumulated 
weighted average is as follows (the prior week's weighted is 
listed in parentheses): KS $94.71($94.31); NE $156.92
($154.13); TX $94.68($93.86); IA $158.53($153.43); CO 

According to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports weekly 
trade volumes were as follows: KS 33,128; NE 23,469; TX 
15,728; IA 27,553; CO 7,150. Friday's slaughter was estimated 
at 119,000 head, 10,000 more than the prior week's holiday 
kill, and 2,000 above last year. Saturday's slaughter was 
estimated at 71,000 head, bringing the weekly total to 
664,000 head, 71,000 greater than the prior week, and 6,000 
larger than 2019. 

DTN MORNING COMMENTS:  The country is quiet this morning with 
bids and asking prices not established. Significant trade 
volume may be delayed until Tuesday or later. Beef cutouts are 
expected to be mixed with generally light box movement.

For the week ending July 04, 2020, Imported Beef Passed for 
Entry in the U.S. totaled 34,336, 87.82% of the previous week 
and 86.21% of the 4-week average.
